Dao Yuan Medical Group runs three general practices across Melbourne: the city, Preston and Bundoora. We are looking for GPs who want a full book, a clinic that is already busy, and colleagues who speak their patients' language.

Why our doctors stay
Two of our three clinics are full and closed to new patients. You are not building a book from nothing: the patients are already here, and many of them have been coming for years.
Our practitioners and reception staff work in English and Mandarin, which is why families across the north and the city choose us. If you speak Mandarin or Cantonese, that is not a line on a form here, it is most of your day.
Everything on site
Ultrasound, 4Cyte pathology collection, allied health and acupuncture at Preston and Bundoora, so referrals stay in the building.
Seven days, if you want them
All three clinics open on weekends, so sessions can be arranged around the rest of your life rather than against it.

AGPAL accreditation at all three clinics, Best Practice clinical software and HotDoc bookings.
Where you would work
Three clinics, each with its own patients and its own rhythm. Some of our doctors work across two of them.
Melbourne CBD
Liverpool Street, in the city. Private billing, travel medicine and occupational health. Growing, and currently without a female doctor.
Preston
High Street, beside Preston Market. Mixed billing, women's health, allied health and ultrasound on site. Full and closed to new patients.
Bundoora
Plenty Road, near La Trobe University. Mixed billing, allied health and ultrasound on site. Full and closed to new patients.
Who we are looking for
General practitioners with AHPRA registration and, ideally, FRACGP or equivalent. We work with doctors trained overseas and can talk through what your pathway needs.
- AHPRA registration, general or specialist
- A Medicare provider number, or eligibility to apply for one
- Mandarin or Cantonese welcome, and not required
- A female GP for the city clinic, where women's health is currently referred to our other clinics
Doctors trained overseas
If you are an international medical graduate, the questions that decide everything are the moratorium, the district classification of each clinic and, where it applies, sponsorship.
Write and ask. We will tell you plainly what applies to each of the three clinics rather than leave you to guess from a job advertisement.

Common questions
What is a session?
A session is a half day of consulting, a morning or an afternoon. Most of our doctors work in sessions rather than fixed hours.
Can I work at more than one clinic?
Yes. Some of our doctors split their week between two of them.
What clinical software do you use?
Best Practice, with HotDoc for bookings and recalls.
Do I need to speak Mandarin or Cantonese?
No. It is welcome and it will fill your day, but it is not a requirement.
Are the clinics accredited?
Yes. All three hold AGPAL accreditation.
I trained overseas. Can I work with you?
It depends on your registration and on whether you are still within the 10 year Medicare rule. Write and tell us where you are up to, and we will tell you plainly what is possible.
